The Pterosaurs produced the largest flying animals to ever
take to the air. However, their size belied a light, flexible
body, capable of active flight. Pteranodon’s unusual crest
was probably a sexual display device and also aided in steering.
So far, most pterosaurs have been found along ancient coastlines,
indicating that they lived like modern sea birds.
